Night at the Gallery

I was part of a small production team that made an interactive visual novel game Night at the Gallery.
We decided on a whimsical Halloween theme reminiscent of a Scooby-Doo comedic and fun storytelling.
The game is set in the National Gallery at the special night viewing. Four friends decide to try a spell, they found on the internet, that would realize a ghost out of a famous Slovenian painting Summer by Ivana Kobilca. After the ghost is freed from the painting friends must stay together to defeat it and safely leave the National Gallery. Will they be able to make it out?

After the script was completed I drew the storyboards so that we could decide on which poses we need and how many static illustrations will be needed for the game.

We decided to include ourselves as the main characters in the game, we designed our own characters and tried to keep a similar art style. We decided to base the character on the three primal shapes square, triangle, and circle.

We prepared different expressions for the animation portion.

Our characters can all have a sad dramatic ending so we decided and I will get stuck in the painting, Pika will become a bust statue and Kaja would get possessed by the ghost.

The animation sample I did for one of the scenes in the game.

The game was made in the software Ren'Py. Pika Terpin did all of the programming so that the game could work.
