The second part of the Divine comedy project I did.
For each part of Dante's masterpiece, I had to create three illustrations. This is an exploration of Dante's first part The Inferno.

Valley of Kings. Colorwise I wanted to make a transition from Inferno to the Mountain of Purgatory and showcase the snake as the entry from the dark cave of Inferno

The Gates of Purgatory. I went through many looks for the angels and in the end, I opted for a more abstract idea of light.

The Garden. Since the angels were more abstract I wanted to give Beatrice a bit more shape but still keep her a bit undefined and menacing.
