The third part of the Divine comedy project I did.
For each part of Dante's masterpiece, I had to create three illustrations. This is an exploration of Dante's first part The Inferno.

Value study. I decided to represent the divine with classical statues but overblown them to show the idea of unbearable light

Surrounded by angels. I wanted to show Dante in an almost trans state when he is surrounded by wings filled with eyes.

The reunion. Beatrice is surrounded by rose petals as she is welcoming Dante to heaven. I presented her as the idea of the huge statue of Athena Parthenos which also shows that Dante and she can never really be together.

Dante describes the meeting with God as overbearing. I decided to present him as the holy trinity in the form of eyes that are always starring.

The idea behind the cover is combining the word that connects all three parts of Dante's poem - Stars and showing the journey almost as a metaphor for personal growth the head is Paradiso and it is blue as the wisest.
